The flight itself was fine, no real problems there. But the extra fees for picking a seat and bringing a bag added up quicker then I expected. Not the worst experience or anything, just felt like a bit much.

I use Alaska Mileage Plan here and there, it works fine most of the time. But the points can take forever to show up, which always makes me wonder if they’re just sitting in some mysterious back room before someone decides to release them. And finding award seats? Half the time it feels like they’re hiding the good ones on purpose. It’s not a bad program, but I really wish it felt a little less like solving a puzzle they don’t actually want you to finish.
